mere power

A PowerOfAppointment in which the trust does not
impose an obligation that it be exercised. The holder (`Donee')
of such
a power cannot be compelled by the courts to exercise it,
but he or she may sometimes be compelled to consider
exercising it. Also known as a `collateral power'.
